E. L. Connally Elementary School was named after the late Colonel Elijah Lewis Connally
(May 6, 1837- March 16, 1930)
who was a surgeon in the Confederate army.
He was married to Mary Virginia Brown Connally
whose father was Govenor Joseph Emerson Brown
J. E. Brown Middle School was named after him.
