Our children represent our hopes and dreams for the future, and they deserve the best education we can give them. Historical Perspective

E. L. Connally Elementary School was named after the late Colonel Elijah Lewis Connally
 (May 6, 1837- March 16, 1930)
who was a surgeon in the Confederate army.
He was married to Mary Virginia Brown Connally
 ( 1850-1927) 
whose father was Govenor Joseph Emerson Brown
 (1821- 1894). 
J. E. Brown Middle School was named after him.
