Brandon School CouncilSchool Councils are designed to bring communities and schools closer together in the spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents in to the school-based decision-making process. The Council is to provide advice, recommendations and assistance, and represent the community of parents and businesses. Members are to share ideas for school improvement, and bring parents and community together with teachers and administrators to create a better understanding of a mutual respect for each other’s concerns. The role of this task force is to keep focus on the enrollment numbers as it relates to the capacity at Morris Brandon. The task force will serve as the liaison with APS in order to work together to address this concern. Additionally, the task force will provide updates at each Council meeting and prepare updates to the community as necessary. Members for the 2011-2012 school year are Joseph Rogers (lead Task Force member), Lee Pritchard (prior Council Member), and Tom Tidwell.
