Meet the Principal

Tresa Hayes Andrews, a native of Louisiana, received her early education in the public schools of Jackson Parish. Ms. Andrews is a proud member of the Class of 1985 from Jonesboro-Hodge High School where she was recognized as the first African American to graduate as Valedictorian. After graduation she decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and other family members and pursue a career in education.

After her tenure at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ms. Andrews joined the ranks of the most talented teachers in the nation by accepting a teaching assignment with Atlanta Public Schools.

Ms. Andrews currently serves as Interim Principal at E. L. Connally Elementary School. Her most recent appointment marks a 21 year long career as an educator with Atlanta Public Schools.

She lives by the quote, “Give the world the best that you have and the best will come back to you.”
