Shayla Barlow

Teacher of the Year 2012-13

Shayla Barlow matriculated through the Atlanta Public School System. She completed her undergraduate studies at Morris Brown College, and later received her teaching certification from Mercer University. Ms. Barlow has also earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and holds Reading Specialist certification obtained at Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Barlow’s ultimate joy is working with children. She has two children of her own and grew up in a family of educators. Her motto is: "If a child cannot learn the way that you teach, you must teach the way that they learn."
