The goal of the Maynard H. Jackson High School media services program is to provide our students, staff, parents, and community with outstanding resources that will enable each to sustain on his/her lifelong education. Supporting the curriculum, student and staff needs are the main purpose of the school library media program. The media center will provide a current, cross-curricular, cross-cultural collection of text and non-text resources, which reflects the school’s academic plan, the Small Leaning Community initiatives, and the needs of all stake- holders.

To provide the students, faculty, staff, parents, and community with access to print, non-print, and technology based resource materials that can be utilized to aid in the pursuit of the academic and technological skills necessary for lifelong learning. 

Jaguars Book Club  which meets monthly for book discussion and new reading assignments. The Jaguars Book Club for the 2012-2013 school year is sponsored by Barnes and Nobles at Edgewood. The Media Center also sponsors a All Teen Male Book Club with funding from Downtown Locker Room (DTLR) clothing store.   

GAMA Georgia Association of Media Assistance  (GAMA) this state organization teaches the student the true essence of Media services thru cataloging, shelving and updating media materials and etc. Maynard Jackson is the only APS High School with this organization
