Welcome to the goal of this website is to provide you with useful information about our school. Our school’s philosophy revolves around the healthy development of the whole child: socially, emotionally, and academically. The faculty and staff strive to create and maintain a productive and positive learning environment while maximizing teaching potential and student achievement. Teachers work hard to make learning interesting and challenging by actively engaging their students in the learning process. We make concerted efforts not to extinguish students’ inquisitiveness and curiosity. Instead, our students leave Paul L. Dunbar with a well-developed love of learning and an appreciation for the learning process that will remain with them throughout their lives. We are proud to have partnerships with our community and parents. As a result, students will feel that while attending school they are an integral part of the community and will realize the value of community and shared leadership and decision making. Karen Brown-Collier, Principal "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” —Forest E. Witcraft (1894-1967), teacher, scholar |
