Coretta Scott King YWLA

11 Alive's Donna Lowry Visits CSKYWLA

Donna Lowry visited Coretta Scott King to interview 6th-8th grade students on the Holocaust Learning Trunk Project. The students were chosen to decorate three trunks.  One of the trunks specially commemorates the life of and promotes Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s message. The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust is very impressed by the student's talents and insight. Executive Director Viki Staley and Digital Media Administrator Emma Ellingson brought the "Butterflies are Free" trunk decorated by the GIVE Center East to show some of the books that accompany each trunk. Middle school teachers throughout the state can check out a trunk from their local Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) office and use the materials within the trunk to support their curriculum.
