Work Hard.....Get Smart!!!!

Welcome to West Manor Elementary where students come first! The goals of West Manor Elementary are to provide an instructional program that motivates our students to become lifelong learners and to improve our students’ self esteem and confidence generating ethical citizens and leaders. We strive to create an environment that fosters a thirst for knowledge within our students.  The West Manor Family believes our students should be enthusiastic, creative thinkers who are able to compete in a global society.

As we begin a new school year, we find teachers establishing school standards and rules.  In the most successful classrooms, teachers have established specific routines for the children to follow.  This means giving the children a specific place to find and keep materials, a set schedule for classroom instruction, etc.  These routines, blended with the teacher’s consistent standards, form a smooth running classroom where the children have the security of understanding their environment and are reinforced positively for their contributions.

The partnership between the school and parents proves to be one of the most important components of student achievement.  A school of excellence has a foundation based on parents and educators working together for the best interest of children.  Educators everywhere recognize the important contributions parents make toward a child’s success in school.  We invite you to join our Parent Teacher Association or Local School Council and become a part of the West Manor Family!

Sincerely,

Reginald Lawrence Ed.D
