I teach Advanced Placement and Honors Chemistryat Benjamin E. Mays High School. I have 17 years of teachingexperience with 6 plus years of research experience. I am very passionate aboutteaching chemistry and student learning. I had participated in 2006 & 2007GIFT (Georgia Intern Fellowship for Teachers) program at Georgia Tech, 2008& 2009 PRISM (Problems & Research to Integrate Science &Mathematics) program at Emory, 2008 Yale National Initiative Teacher Instituteat Yale University, 2008 Oxford Teacher Seminar at Oxford, UK, 2009 Cooper-Hewitt Design Institute at CDC, Atlanta and 2010 Plasma camp at PrincetonUniversity to strengthen teaching strategies. Through these programs, I wasable to create student-centered activities to infuse students’ interest towardschemistry. I was appreciated by Woman of color teacher award for myaccomplishments and commitment towards STEM education and studentlearning.
