                                        Teacher Of the Year
 
         
Congratulations to our Teacher of the year, Mr. Gregorey Thomas!
 He is one of our fourth grade teachers who exemplifies excellence in the classroom.

Mr. Gregorey Thomas was born and raised in
Fort Worth, Texas.  He is the youngest of four children from Henry and Gloria Thomas.  He graduated from Green B. Trimble Technical High School in 1994.  After graduating, he received a music scholarship from Weatherford College located in Weatherford, Texas where he received his A.A in Music.  Mr. Thomas also attended the University of North Texas located in Denton, Texas where he received his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  After completing college, he was offered a fourth grade position at Alice D. Contreras Elementary (Fort Worth Independent School DIstrict).  He taught fourth grade at Alice D. Contreras for six years before locating to Atlanta, Georgia.  After a year in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Thomas joined the Adamsville Family.  This is his fourth year at Adamsville Elementary.

Come Learn Technology!
 
Mr. Crabtree, our technology teacher, is offering FREE technology classes for Adamsville's parents. Classes will be held in the Computer Lab each Wednesday during February from 3:00 -5:00 p.m. Here is an opportunity to learn more about Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. We will be learning how to set-up and access emails, surf the web for websites to support learning at home, and how to keep children safe while on the web. Here is an opportunity to hone your skills! 
Excellence in Reading!
 
               Adamsville Elementary is implementing many programs to support reading across the curriculum and reading for fun! Our reading programs are discussed below. At Adamsville Elementary, we do know that avid readers make tomorrow's leaders!
 
Adamsville's Pizza Hut Book-It Program
          Children are encouraged to read at least 10 books per month to receive a Pizza Hut certificate redeemable for a personal pan one-topping pizza! The books that students have read should be noted in their book logs.
  
                                     Book of the Month Club 

         Adamsville will host Book of the Month celebrations once a month for students who have read the pre-selected books of the month. During the celebrations, students will be encouraged to discuss what he or she learned about the book.
 
Children's Literature For Children Partnership (CLC)
              CLC offers readinng programs to third graders. Along with volunteers and the media specialist, fourth graders visit the media center each week to discuss books that they have read. Students are also exposed to various genres of literature. CLC has also brought many children's authors to Adamsville Elementary. 

The Morning Show
 
            The Morning Show id up and runnung! Each morning our students are greeted with Adamsville's News, Weather, Lunch Talk, Wednesday's Wonderful Winners (Caldecott & Newbery Books), Test Taking Strategies, and other pertinent information for our students to start their day off.
