Dear Inman Families,

It’s time to express gratitude for the great things that are happening at Inman Middle School. We have just been named a Georgia “Highest Performing School” by the GA Department of Education, we have a winning Cheerleading team and we won an Atlanta Partners for Education Award for our partnership with the Federal Reserve.

Our success is not only due to our great students and staff, but also because of the on-going support extended to our staff and students from you, our parents and community.  We cannot do the great things we do without your individual support as well as the active participation through our PTA and LSC.

We also continue to work very closely with school-wide management and behavior expectations.  Our new vision at Inman is “Creating a Culture of Excellence” and I hope you will continue to work with us in that manner.  Please take the time to review the APS Student Handbook and your child’s Student Agenda and know that our expectation for appropriate behavior and academic readiness are very high.

We are delighted for Dr. Cha Walker-Rice, Assistant Principal and Ms. Barbara Copney, 8th grade science teacher who are retiring at the end of the month.  It was a very difficult decision for both of them and we wish them well in their new adventures.  They have both served with great integrity and passion and will be truly missed.

As the semester is ending soon, please continue to check the IC portal on a regular basis, talk to your children about making good choices and holding your child accountable for their academic progress.

Best wishes to all Inman families this Thanksgiving time and thank you for being such a critical part of Inman’s success.

Sincerely,

Paula Herrema
